General:
"Sweet Bread for Hillary" translates
into Sugar Loaf Mountain which is on the outskirts
of Abergavenny. The morse code is "Ticket
to Ride" - a link between Steve's love of
trains and his love of the Beatles. The plant
is Shepherds' Purse which, with the Welsh Ram,
should at least have told you that you were in
Wales. Kestrels are common in the area. On Blorenge,
a mountain near the town, a part of the Olympic
show jumper Foxhunter is buried. He was the mount
of Sir Harry Llewellyn. The wagon wheel in the
margin and the chocolate biscuit in the text are
references to the well-known brand "Wagon
Wheels" which are (or were) made at Cwmbran,
a place on the route.
The coat of arms concerning Christmas relates
to a legend in Abergavenny of William de Braose,
a Norman lord, who invited the local Welsh leaders
to Christmas dinner and had them all killed as
they sat eating. |
Key:
The roman numeral X (10) appears here. Now for
the time - the front of the train shows no time
but there is a clock. The clock shows 11 o'clock
but there is a code around the outside of this
unusual clock. It is a simple alphabetical (ABC=123)
code which reads "TIME MINUS LE". If
you take the time which is ELEVEN and take away
LE you get the word "even". As extra
confirmation of this, the train number adds up
to 16 and "even" is the 16th word in
the text. Put the word "even" in position
10 in the "key" message. |
